5-Axis Machining Center
5-Axis Machining Center Introduction
Choose a 5 axis machining center by comparing part access, working envelope, machine design and CNC functions. The U series offers compact models, the LH series provides heavy-duty gantry-type choices, and the TMC series focuses on high-speed machining.
Start with the part geometry, fixture and required tool orientations. Then compare the working envelope, rotary clearance, load limits and CNC functions. Review U260, U320 and U400 for compact options, LH400 and LH500 for gantry configurations, and TMC630 or TMC800 for high-speed requirements. Confirm whether the intended job needs indexed positioning or simultaneous five-axis motion.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is five-axis machining always simultaneous?
A: No. Indexed machining positions the part or tool before cutting; simultaneous machining coordinates changing axis positions during cutting. Confirm the required control functions on each model.
Q: How should I assess the usable work envelope?
A: Check the fixture, workpiece and tool through the required orientations. Rotary clearance can limit the job even when the part fits within the linear travel.
Q: Can every five-axis machining center also turn parts?
A: No. Turning requires a suitable machine configuration. Review the separate HTMC500T and HTMC800T turn-mill models if turning is required.
