Introduction
The TH1600S horizontal boring and milling center is the large-size S model for deep-bore machining. As the large-size S model, it should be assessed with the full workpiece and fixture envelope as well as the internal bore geometry.
Bore depth alone does not establish whether a job is feasible. Diameter, access, tool support, chip removal and required finish must be assessed together. Compare the TH1000S where a different size class may be appropriate. Send a section drawing showing bore geometry and tolerances to discuss the machining approach.

Q: How does the TH1600S compare with the TH1000S?
A: Both belong to the S deep-bore range. The TH1600S is the large size class; compare actual travel, reach and load limits for your setup.
Q: Is deep-hole boring the same as gun drilling?
A: No. Boring enlarges an existing hole; gun drilling creates deep holes with a specialized drilling process. Do not assume a deep-bore model includes a gun-drilling system.
Q: Can maximum bore depth be stated without a tool setup?
A: A useful capability statement needs bore diameter, tooling, extension, material and quality requirements. Ask for an assessment of the complete bore rather than depth alone.
